Saraswathy Pooja


     Saraswati Pooja     


      Basant Panchami, usually called as Saraswathi Puja, is a Hindu festival celebrating Saraswathi, the goddess of knowledge,wisdom,gnan,music and art. It is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the Indian month Magh (January-February),the first day of Spring.            


                  Every year we celebrate this festival on the cool evenings of the day. Usually, we celebrate this in the hall lobby at the entrance of the hall beside hall office.Hall residents in large numbers,Wardens and office staff participate in worshipping "Maa Saraswathi" with great devotion.Brahmin Pandith conducts Pooja with Homam(Yajna) in a traditional way.Some of the residents place the notebooks, pens etc at the feet of maa saraswathi for her blessings in their studies.While doing Homam,All participants of pooja ties sacread threads to their hands with a belief that it protects them from all the devil and help them in acheiving their academic goals. At the end of pooja, Prasad is distributed to all.

  1. I still do not understand why Saraswathy Pooja is restricted to one day a year.From conception you are a student and will continue to study, as long as you live.
